Origins of Givix
My Father was 100% Native American, Lakota Sioux, born on an Indian reservation in Montana. He was born Parker Lynn Gives. Gives was at some point in time shortened from Givesblanket. When Parker was two he was taken from the Indian Reservation and given to a family in Independence Missouri and had his native name stripped away and replaced with Lowry.
I made the name GIVIX by taking the "GIV" from Givesblanket and the "I" and the "X" from Sioux. This was an attempt to create a word with my roots that would stretch into the future with promise, hope, and the strength to always move forward through any adversity!
GIVIX [GIV-IKS]

2 to prevail over adversity
Despite all of the setbacks and obstacles Samantha was determined to givix.
3 to help in time of need
What have you done to givix during covid-19?
4 put into vigorous action:
to givix every effort
GIVIX NEVER GIVES UP

Walkin' & Rollin' is close to my heart for three reasons. First, as a father of three girls and three boys children are the most important thing to me. Secondly my Father spent the last seven years of his life as a quadriplegic confined to bed or a wheelchair. Finally because it is local to the KC area!

I stand firmly against the abuse of women and children. My Terry Crews painting "Runaway Love" features lyrics of about ten songs dealing with domestic violence was inspired by a talk Terry did about his experience with the topic.

I probably disagree with the majority of what the military and governments do.... but I do stand proudly with the men and women that serve to protect our rights and freedoms. Just because those in power are corrupted, does not mean the people putting their life on the line are. I believe that those who serve do so out of a genuine love for this country, our people, and our freedom!
My paintings that deal with homelessness, musicians, and political issues will have 25% of the sale donated to Veterans Community Project.
